Elsie Skirt
Elsie Skirt
The Elsie skirt is what flowy skirt dreams are made of! When made in lightweight fabrics, it will be an easy skirt to carry you through the summer and, when made in slightly heavier fabrics, it will fill out your wardrobe in colder months. View A is an easy a-line pull-on skirt with an elastic waistband. View B features a button placket at the front and a partially elasticated waistband. Both views of the skirt have deep slanted pockets at the front and a flared silhouette that does not add bulk at the waist. Although the Elsie skirt is rated as an intermediate-level pattern, suitable for patient beginners, View A of the pattern is beginner-friendly since it does not involve the construction of the button placket.

Suggested Fabrics: The Elsie skirt works great when sewn with light to medium-weight fabrics with minimum to no stretch. Lightweight linen, hemp, and viscose will work well. Lighter-weight fabrics will add more drape, whereas heavier fabrics will result in a more structured garment.
