The Tabitha Tank has officially had its glow-up!
This pattern started as a simple free tank, and while the original version was useful, it was definitely showing its age. I’ve now fully redesigned and updated it so it feels much more in line with my current patterns - better drafted, better presented, and much easier to use.
The updated Tabitha now includes sizes XXS–5X, refreshed pattern files, and fully updated instructions. It’s still the same easy, fast sew it always was, but now it’s cleaner, more polished, and much more in line with how I design patterns and write instructions now.
And honestly? It’s one of those surprisingly useful patterns. A good tank doesn’t sound that exciting until you start reaching for it constantly. It works as a simple everyday top, a layering piece, a base for outfits, and a pattern you can sew more than once without getting bored with it.
Below you’ll find the practical details, plus links to a few extra resources that may be helpful as you sew.

Sizes: XXS–5X. Size chart is here
Sewing Level: Beginner+
Finished Measurements: See page 3 of the Instructions
Suggested Fabrics: Light- to midweight jersey weighing approximately 180-220 gsm. Choose fabric with 4–8% spandex and good recovery. Cotton/spandex jersey is ideal for a smooth fit and neck/armholes that stay close to the body. If you choose a softer or drapier knit, the tank may have a more relaxed fit. If you choose a stable knit with less stretch, you may want to size up.
Fabric Requirements: See page 4 of the Instructions
Additional Supplies:
- stretch or ballpoint needle
Pattern Files:
- Size layers on all files
- Print-at-home file (Letter & A4)
- Copy shop file (A0)
- Projector-friendly / paperless file
