The vest is an easy fit with a classy v-neck. The pattern has options for either a heart or a more advanced bear applique. Alternatively, for a super-fast sew, you can skip the applique altogether! No matter which version you choose, your little one will be extra warm and cozy with this vest on.
Zoe is 14 months old, with 19.5″ chest. She is wearing size 18 months, which is slightly too big on her.
Sewing Level: Advanced Beginner
Sizes: 3 months - 24 months, 2T - 6T
Suggested Fabrics: Knit fabrics with at least 25% stretch, such as french terry, sweatshirting, stretch fleece, double knit, interlock or sweater knit. If the main fabric has minimum stretch, use stretchier fabric or ribbing for sleeve and neck bands.
Applique Fabrics: any scrap fabrics are suitable for applique.
Heart applique requires 5.5" x 5.5" (14cm x 14cm) scrap of fabric for baby sizing, and 6.25" x 6.25" (16cm x 16cm) scrap of fabric for toddler sizing.
Bear applique requires 9.75" x 4.75" (25cm x 12cm) scrap of fabric for baby sizing, and 11.75" x 5.5" (30cm x 14cm) scrap of fabric for toddler sizing. A small scrap of 2"x2" (5cm x 5cm) fabric is needed for Bear's nose and eyes.
